|
|
Greetings. I have an application that uses cooljsmenu and which works splendidly--in Internet Explorer. I just recently noticed however that it doesn't work in Netscape (I've tried NS versions 7.1 and the current 8.1.2). Specifically, in Netscape, the menu looks correct, but when you click on a menu item, nothing happens; the hyperlink in question does not get activated. Looking at the properties of the menu item (right click, then select properties on the context menu) Netscape seems to acknowledge that the item is a link. It has the correct url. It just doesn't do anything when you click it.
Anyone else experienced this or have any helpful ideas? Any thoughts at all gratefully accepted. The remaining hair on my head holds out hope for a reprieve. |

| Just FYI, some additional information. I just downloaded Mozilla Firefox to see what it would do. It works it seems half the time. More specifically, every other menu selection works, and the alternating ones do nothing. Curiouser and curiouser. |

| I have re-read my last post and I realize it is misleading. When I wrote that, in Firefox, alternating menu selections do not work, I did not mean that every other menu item works. I meant that every other click on any menu item works. For example, click on a menu item, it doesn't work. Then click on that same menu item or any other one, and it does work. Click on the same menu item or any other and it doesn't work. Then next time you click on any menu item it does work. And so forth. |

Hi,
This is the behaviour I also discovered when you use the 'clickToActivate' functionality. Using 2.6. Tested in IE and FireFox.

Thanks JoeB for your reply, but I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing. I'm not using the clickToActivate setting. I'm content to have my sub-menus open as a result of mouse hovering, with no need to click on them. My problem lies in the clicking on menu leaves--i.e. the ultimate end of the menu where a functional selection resides--and either get no reaction in NS or get a reaction every other time in Mozilla, or it works correctly in IE.
Who knows, maybe both your clickToActivate sub-menu problem and my click on a leaf problem are symptoms of some larger issue. One question though, do you see different behaviors in different browsers?
Thanks again for your response.

Hi Dan,
Nope.
Same behaviour in both IE and Firefox.
But exactly as you've described.
