I just this morning purchased and downloaded the COOLjsMenu PRO. I received my download link and I downloaded it to My Documents. When I unziped it I couldn't find and Install.exe? Did I do something wrong, or did I not receive a complete download?
COOLjsMenu PRO is a Program, is it not? Shouldn't there be an installation exe file in it somewhere? If not, how do I install it to my computer, and where do I place it??
Thanks in advance for helping the DUMMY out!
Obviously I'm lost.....
Thanks!! |

No, it's not a "program", at least not in the sense of being a windows executable....the "program" is in Javascript. You install it NOT by running an exe file, but by uploading the javascript files to your web server and calling them from your web pages. See the demo files that came with the CooljsMenuPro download.
Were you looking for a menu program for your web pages, or for your local machine? If the latter, you wanted the menu found on cooldev.com (I did the reverse, by accident...I bought first the menu on cooldev.com, when I really wanted the javascript based menu on javascript.cooldev.com).
Hope this helps... |

Yes, I thought I was purchasing a program. I wanted a program to install on my computer to generate java script menu's that I could use in conjuntion with my CoffeeCup HTML Editor which I am using to build pages for my genealogy website.
I'll work with this some and see what I can come up with. I didn't realize I was spending $49.00 for a java script, but for a program. Oh, and I did purchase it at CoolDev.Com.
Thanks for your response. Maybe I can make it work.

| If you're going to be using on a website, then it might work well for you. The javascript is created for you, of course. You just need to complete the configuration file (usually called menuitems.js). It's one of the easiest and most straightforward javascript menus to configure. The example files included give a pretty good explanation of how it works. The doc files aren't bad either. |

Yes, Mr. Camner is right: COOLjsMenu PRO is not a program... at least it is not a end-user program as game or scpreadsheet applications, but rather a component which can be used in a larger application like web-site.
Our site has visual builder for the menu, and people can create their menus there, but personally I prefer to create menus by hands because once you'll get used to this you will be able to create menus much easier then using builder. But if you need to create only one single menu then builder will help you. Also you can ask technical support (jssupport@cooldev.com) and they will help you to create your menu.
Regarding www.cooldev.com: applications and components from this site are not related to scripts on javascript.cooldev.com. These are completely different projects. |
